Installation Guide

Precision direct time switch replacements (movements only) are so easy to install; the only tool required is a screwdriver. No need to remove or replace the existing enclosure — just follow these instructions:

Step 1. Turn Power Off & Remove Timer

The safest and easiest way to turn the power off is to switch off the appropriate breaker in the electrical distribution panel box. Before removing timer, mark wires as to what number terminals they are on & disconnect them. It is most important to mark the wires or if color coded, to note where each wire came from. Each terminal board has numbers on their screw terminals and these should match the manufacturer’s electrical label on the inside of the front enclosure door. Note line, load and neutral terminals and wires.

To remove the timer from the enclosure depress the spring at top of timer, tilt out at a 45° angle and lift out.

Step 2. Insert New Precision Timer

Your new Precision timer inserts the same way the original timer was removed. Place the bottom of the timer into enclosure at about a 45° angle. Slide the bracket under the indention on the enclosure. Push the top of the bracket so it snaps under the top spring. The bracket should now be secure.

Step 3. Rewire the New Timer & Turn ON

The Precision Timer should be rewired with the same terminal numbers as the original timer. Compare the old electrical wiring diagram on the cover door with the Precision wiring diagram provided. Rewire the pool timer noting where line, load and neutral terminals are. Tighten down screws in each terminal so wire is secure. Replace insulator cover over wiring section of the terminal board.

Arrange the On/Off trippers to the switching times desired. Pull the dial out & rotate the center point to the time of day. Our terminal is furnished with (2) sets of on/off trippers. Unless you are going to turn on & off twice in a 24 hour period, only one set is necessary.

Since you are replacing a pool timer, you should probably set the on/off trippers to the time schedule you have been successfully using. Loosen up thumb screw in tripper and slide around dial to the time location desired. Note black tripper is “off” and silver color for “on”. Tighten screw in trippers (both on & off). Pull dial out and rotate so time of day on dial is positioned under center pointer, and let dial snap back into running position. Check clock slider in regard to on and off switch position. Slide into proper position.

Turn the power panel breaker on from the electric panel and you are back in operation.
